When you support NewTV, you support freedom of expression, transparency, and creativity.
DID YOU KNOW?
NewTV, like most community media centers, is funded primarily by a surcharge on the cable bill of Newton cable subscribers. With more and more people “cutting the cord” in favor of streaming services and apps, we are rapidly losing a major source of capital needed to serve our community.
Our members can use our studio or borrow our equipment to create documentaries, short films, episodic programs, or anything they can imagine. We also have a professional podcasting/vodcasting setup. If you’ve never held a camera, used Adobe Premiere, or seen the inside of a TV studio, we’ll teach you through our classes and workshops, or even one-on-one training.
What does my support do for the community?
NewTV is dedicated to providing our diverse community with an accessible platform for local opinions, news, and information. As a nonprofit, we rely heavily on funding from the City of Newton, community partnerships, and contributions from supporters and viewers.
