A quick note: Bidding on an item does not in any way require you to attend the Cones 'n Cars event on August 19. We would, of course, love to have you, but we understand if you can't make it!
WHY THE SILENT AUCTION?
Community Media is in trouble. Media centers like NewTV are funded primarily by a surcharge added onto the cable bills of local cable subscribers. As more people "cut the cord" in favor of streaming services, fewer cable subscribers means less money for Community Media.​

Other Newton non-profit organizations utilize NewTV's facilities to drum-up support for their missions, educate the community, or provide a creative outlet for their own members.

Our school-to-work program allows local high school students to gain valuable real world production experience while participating in their school's A/V Club.

Area college students studying Communications or Journalism are encouraged to apply for our Newton News internship program and Lipof Fellowship.
Without proper funding, we lose the ability to provide these (and even more) essential services to residents of Newton and its surrounding areas. Our silent auction will help us to recoup some of the funds lost to cord cutting. Your support for local media is invaluable - not only to NewTV - but to our whole community.
