Newton News Internship
When applying for jobs at major television stations, the first thing the HR department will ask for is your demo reel. Newton News is your opportunity to have that demo reel with real stories and real hands on experience. As an intern, you’ll be shooting, writing, editing and maybe even hosting for an award-winning weekly newscast. This is one of the great ways to get your foot in the door!
Original Programming Internship
NewTV's Emmy® award-winning Original Programming department is seeking college level students and recent graduates to help in the development and production of its current and upcoming shows. Interns must posses basic knowledge of video production, be comfortable working on a Mac, and be highly motivated to work in the television and film industries. Some shoots may require late night or weekend work. Applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 10 hours per week and who have their own transportation are strongly desired.
Government Channel Internship
If you’re a political enthusiast who is interested in television production, then this is the internship for you! Interning at NewTV's Government Channel will give you the opportunity to learn all aspects of video production, including single and multi-camera field and studio production, editing, lighting, composition and more. You’ll be covering local municipal meetings, events and studio programs. Through this experience, you’ll gain invaluable knowledge of your local government through interaction with elected officials and city departments.
Education Channel Internship
Experience hands on-production from raw footage to final program by learning Final Cut Pro non-linear editing. This internship is tailored to fit your interests. Shooting in the field or studio and editing will be required. You must have patience, maturity, and pride in the perfection of a piece that can be seen and heard on TV. Open to high school and college students only upon interview and acceptance. Hours range from afternoon, evenings, and occasional weekend shoots. Community Channel Internship
NewTV’s Community Channel is seeking high school and college level students to assist with the demands of an active community media center. Under the supervision of the Director of Member Services, interns will work directly with our members, so a friendly and professional attitude is imperative. Proficiency with Mac computers, video production, and non-linear editing is also recommended, as interns will be asked to create various types of short videos and assist during workshops. Training is available. Weekday, nighttime availability is required.
Graphic Design / Marketing Internships
NewTV has many exciting, creative internship opportunities for talented and highly-motivated graphic design majors. Gain valuable experience designing brochures, logos, invitations, ads and other print collateral for our events. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on Mac is required and experience with After Effects and Cinema 4D are a plus. There are also many internship opportunities in marketing, promotions and social media. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Web experience is a plus.
Production Services Internship
Do you dream of owning your own production company? Intern in our newly created Production Services department and learn how to attract clients, go through the production and creative process, hire crew, and deliver a product that will impress. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude and work directly with the Production Services Manager to build this fast growing department.
