Meet Our New Managing Director!

NewTV is excited to welcome Lisa Mirowitz to our team as the new Managing Director!

Lisa has experience leading ambitious media and communications initiatives, and a deep interest in expanding access to community and educational programming.

Prior to joining NewTV, Lisa worked as an Executive Producer and Director at the Harvard School of Public Health. Before working at Harvard, Lisa worked as a Senior Producer at WGBH for over 20 years where she developed award-winning productions, including programs for NOVA, PBS' award-winning science series, and Rx for Survival, an Emmy award-winning, six-part series on international global health filmed in 25 countries.

Lisa was introduced to media production during her time as a volunteer at Newton Cablevision, which was the precursor of NewTV. She learned how to edit, operate cameras and produce live shows.

Lisa lives in Jamaica Plain with her husband and their two cats, Minerva and Sheebi. In her free time, Lisa loves to garden, paddle board, and run. Lisa and her husband enjoy running through all the beautiful green spaces in Jamaica Plain including the Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, and all along the winding trails and pathways of the Emerald Necklace.

"I am very excited to be here and have the opportunity to work with the fantastic team at NewTV. I really look forward to meeting our many members and members of the Newton City Council, as well as our community partners. My goal in my time here is to help lead the organization into the future and help expand its growth."
