Newton News: Talking to Children and Adults About Abuse

There has been a lot of talk about the second grade teacher, David Ettlinger from Underwood Elementary School who was arrested January 17 on charges of possession of Child pornography and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.  Conversations in classrooms, throughout the community and in homes about the incident are a good start to helping children understand what is happening and how they can avoid a similar situation to happen to them. Joining me in the studio to talk about how to talk to your children and adults is Meg Bossong the Community Mobilization Project Manager from the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and Gail Sommer, the Director of Community Support and Prevention Services which includes the Child Assault Prevention Program or CAP.
