On Monday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., an 18-year-old female was assaulted and robbed at the Newton Highland's T- Station. The victim was on the T platform when she was attacked from behind and thrown to the ground.  Baker's Best Cafe in Newton Highlands closed its retail doors this week.  And since it's the holiday season, whats a better way to spruce up your sideboard than with a holiday house.  All this and more on Newton News!

Newton Wellesley Hospital's Pain Management Service is one of many pain centers in the area that focus on how a person can get their quality of life back despite their chronic pain but focuses a little more on the one-to-one to help achieve that goal.

Searching for a Suspect

On Monday, a Jackson Street home was broken into with the occupant inside.  The suspect fled after taking some jewelry and the owner's car.  The Volvo was found undamaged with no key inside. Newton Police are searching for the suspect.  This is a picture.  Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Newton Police Department.

Girls Give Back

Newton's Metrowest Girls Travel Basketball team is giving back for the holiday season.  The Ronald McDonald House in Brookline was the beneficiary of the girls' dinner and dessert.  Ken Harris caught up with them before their game Sunday to see what was on the menu.

Schools Go Green

December 7, 2011

Two non-profit schools, The Gifford School in Weston and the Learning Center for the Deaf in Framingham sought the help of Chapman Construction from Newton to build affordable green buildings on their campuses. Both projects were completed on time and under budget. Something Chapman takes great pride in providing their clients.  Newton News got a closer look at the new buildings to see how the schools' centerpieces are creating a great place for learning.

Lighting Up Newton

Wegman's Coming to Newton

Wegmans Food Market has announced it will be a part of the Chestnut Hill Square development on Route 9.  The new store will a smaller version about 70 thousand square feet, but it will still have its Market Cafe.  Design plans are not yet finalized and a construction schedule or opening date has not been determined.
